RG Falla Strengthens its Board

RG Falla has promoted two employees to further strengthen its board of directors.;Paul Mason and Mike Wagstaff bring with them more than 40 years experience within the construction industry which RG Falla managing director Peter Gregory said will be invaluable.RG Falla has built its reputation on having a qualified, experienced and dedicated workforce and it's equally important that that workforce have a strong and capable board of directors. Both Paul and Mike are long-standing employees and have contributed enormously to the success of the business. Their appointment to the RG Falla board of directors is well deserved and I have no doubt that they will bring significant value to the boardroom table,' he said.Mr Mason began his construction career in the UK where he completed an HND in Construction Management from London South Bank University. He first came to Guernsey to work on the new accident and emergency department at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital and joined RG Falla in 1992. He has worked on a number of RG Falla's larger projects including the expansion of Boots the Chemist, Generali House, The Dorey Centre at St James, the Garenne Stand, the Grammar School Sixth Form Centre and Maison du Quetteville. He is currently working on the new Les Beaucamps High School. Some projects do give a real sense of community and those are the ones I have enjoyed the most; it is so satisfying to drive past a project in the knowledge that many islanders are benefiting, every day, in living or being cared for, working, studying, visiting or socialising in a building which utilised the very latest technology and design,' he said. We are extremely lucky to have such exceptional people working in the construction industry. I have been privileged to work alongside leading professionals who are experts in their field and been responsible for well qualified and committed teams who are first-class craftsmen in their fields.' We are extremely lucky to have such exceptional people working in the construction industry. I have been privileged to work alongside leading professionals who are experts in their field and been responsible for well qualified and committed teams who are first-class craftsmen in their fields.'Outside of work Mr Mason is a keen sea swimmer and swum acoss the English Channel in 2009. Later this year he plans a solo swim around Guernsey.Mr Wagstaff, who has a degree in quantity surveying, also began his career in the UK but later worked for NCC, one of Europe's largest construction companies. He joined RG Falla in 2002 and has worked on large scale developments including Trafalgar Court, Marina View and St Sampson's High and Le Murier Schools. Having spent the earlier part of my career working for companies which were very contractual and impersonal, it's been so refreshing to come to RG Falla where the business has been built around respect, reputation and long-term relationships with clients, consultants and suppliers,' he said. RG Falla is a company that looks for a solution rather than an excuse as to why something can't be done and that's something I enjoy. Maintaining that personal approach is something I consider to be very important and I want to ensure that in my new role, this remains at the centre of everything we do.
