Garenne Group makes Changes to Management Teams

GARENNE Group has made changes to the management teams of AFM and RG Falla to strengthen the leadership of both companies.
Mark Edgar and Darren Etasse have been promoted to be joint managing directors of AFM, which has allowed former managing director Mark Palfrey to take on a non-executive role at AFM and join Peter Gregory as joint managing director of RG Falla.
‘Darren and Mark Edgar have been long-standing members of the Garenne team and are considered to be an important part of the management team. They have contributed greatly to reinforcing AFM’s position as the premier facilities management and services contractor in the Channel Islands and I am sure the company will go on to greater things under their leadership,’ said Garenne Group chief executive officer Andy Hall.
‘Mark Palfrey’s move to RG Falla will enhance the management team as both he and Peter have worked closely together for a number of years and their commercial and operational backgrounds complement each other perfectly. Together they will head a fantastic team.’
Mr Etasse has been with AFM for 17 years after starting as a trainee design engineer. He was the first person in the Channel Islands to qualify as a chartered building services design engineer and has recently become a certified director. He has been AFM’s commercial director for four years and was responsible for the launch of AFM’s new soft services team.
‘In the last five years, AFM has grown into a large professional organisation and in that time, we have expanded into a number of new and exciting markets,’ he said.
‘I am looking forward to growing the business even further, particularly in today’s challenging economic climate and hope that my strong  customer and technical skills will help me increase the services and value we offer our clients.’
Mr Edgar has been with AFM for 13 years and been director of operations since 2008 where he built a successful operations team geared toward providing the company’s market leading facilities management service.
‘I’m looking forward to working with such a strong team of people.  We have a great opportunity to continue growing the business and providing secure employment opportunities across the Channel Islands,’ he said.
‘I have a strong eye for detail and also plan to embrace new technology to provide an efficient, cost-effective and reliable service for our clients. I want our systems for delivery to be robust and efficient to ensure that growth is carefully managed and we continue to offer a premium service.’
Mr Palfrey joined RG Falla in 1992 and has worked for Camerons in Jersey and AFM. He has been a director of Garenne since 1997 and is currently vice-chairman of the Guernsey branch of the Institute of Directors.
‘I hope I can bring a fresh perspective to the business and share the workload of a managing director for  an extremely successful and progressive company. There is a great team of highly skilled people to work with and that will help to ensure RG Falla continues to prosper,’ he said.
