Sarah-Jayne received the highest overall mark by all London, Jersey and Guernsey students undertaking degrees with the Faculty of the Built Environment at London South Bank University.
Trevor Wakefield, Principal, Guernsey College of Further Education. "This is the second time the College has run the two degree programmes with LSBU. We are delighted by the success of the programme and the individual achievements of the students. For the construction industry in Guernsey, the course has provided twenty graduates over the two programmes who have enhanced the professionalism of the industry." Trevor added that it was particularly pleasing to see students' progress through the College construction courses from apprenticeship to honours degree.
Students on the course welcomed the opportunity to study for a degree on island whilst remaining in employment.
Jane Walden of the Guernsey College of Further Education said the success of the course could be attributed to a real team effort.  Local construction industry professionals supported the course and helped students in between visits from London South Bank University Lecturers. Students also had the opportunity to spend time at the University and live in Halls of Residence for a week. They attended lectures at the University, visited the Faculty library and were given individual support by the Faculty Librarian.  The students were also mutually supportive of one another which is reflected in their achievements. Jane also added that the College and the students are grateful to RG Falla for their generous support of the College of Further Education library.
